Most people don’t recycle in the bathroom. Even if you do, heaps of empty packaging materials still end up in landfills.

To make it even more confusing, most beauty products that make their way to your recycling bin are rejected by recycling systems. Just throwing it in your bin and hoping for the best is called “wish-cycling”.

So what's the big deal?

It might feel like just one shampoo bottle here, one deodorant stick there. Now multiply that by the number of people with a beauty and personal care routine, which is pretty much everyone.

According to Zero Waste Week, the cosmetics industry produces 120 billion units of packaging each year. Alone, the cardboard boxes that house your fragrances and fancy moisturizers are responsible for the loss of 18 million acres of forest per year.

This puts people in an uncomfortable position: love the planet or keep using the products that they love. Why not both?

So how does it work?

Heap is a rewards platform where members send in their beauty waste in exchange for points.
The more waste you send back for recycling, the more rewards points you get.
These points can be spent on a range of concerts and dining experiences, travel perks, gift cards, and much more.
All without having to compromise on using the products you know and love.
